The laws, rules and regulations that exist in society define a minimum level for how individuals and companies must behave. But Nynas’ objectives are set higher than that. Helping us along the way is our involvement in Responsible Care. This is a voluntary commitment in the chemical industry based on the objective of minimising the risk of harm to people’s health and the external environment by means of continuous improvements in the companies involved.  

Besides Responsible Care, we have also signed up to a programme for sustainable development that has been drawn up by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This programme offers support to companies all over the world that want to develop environmentally aware leadership. 

Nynas has traditionally played an active role in various industry organisations, the purpose of which is to stimulate better products and high business ethics. This includes, for example, CONCAWE, which is the European oil companies’ organisation for the environment, health and safety. This is a commitment that enables us to be involved in influencing developments in the industry, as well as building up relationships with other players and interested parties.
